What is Meant by Robotics :

• Robotics deals with the design, making and application of robots
• Robots are automated machines used in place of humans in many works like manufacturing, quality control, bomb diffusing etc.
• A Robot can do large amounts of work quickly, efficiently and more economically than human beings.
Robots and their uses:
Mobile Robots:
• Mobile robots are nothing but moving robots used for material transportation in large industries , patroling in space research etc.
Space robots:
• These robots are sent into space for reasearch, environmental state of planets, satellites, stars etc. like the Mars rover.
Industrial robots:
• These robots are used in industries for manufacturing works like welding, material handling, painting, assembling etc.
Military robots:
• These robots are used in military for bomb diffusal, target bombing, rescue process etc.
Telerobots:
These robots are used for works which are dangerous for humans like construction of spaceships, maintenance of satellites, development of space station etc.
Domestic or household robots:
This type of robots includes many quite different devices such as robotic vacuum cleaners, robotic pool cleaners, sweepers, gutter cleaners etc. for household purposes.
Medical robots:
These robots are used in pharmaceuticals, hospitals, medicine and medical institutions for medical treatments, surgeries etc.
Service robots:
These are robots that don’t fall into other types by usage. These could be different data gathering robots, robots made to show off technologies, robots used for research, etc.
Entertainment robots:
These are robots used for entertainment like toy robots such as robosapien or the running alarm clock etc.
Robots in agriculture:
There are many robots that are still in an experimental stage and have been used in agricultural field such as to gather harvest, plant seeds and transplant seedlings, pick apples, etc.
Research robots:
These robots are used in research laboratories for various labour and life saving works of scientists.
Swarm robots:
These robots have the behavior of swarms (a group of bees/ants) of thousands of tiny robots which together perform a useful task, such as cleaning, finding something hidden, or spying.
Nano robots:
These robots will be of nano size (10-9 metres) used for micro surgery (on the level of individual cells), manufacturing, weaponry and cleaning. Researchers are also trying to create entire robots as small as viruses or bacteria, which could perform tasks on a tiny scale.

Work of technicians and engineers vary by location and specialization like electrical, electronics, mechanical, chemical etc.
Robotics engineers and technicians are responsible for designing, creating, testing and troubleshooting problems with their robots.
Robotics Engineers are most important employees in making of robots. Their work includes
• Working on computers (both software and hardware)
• Problem solving and analysing
• Drafting and layout drawing of all parts and specifications
• Thinking creatively
• Communication with coworkers and computers and so on.
Importance Of School Subjects For Robotics :
Languages:
• Every work in this world needs communication with different people to get successful, so as robotics.
• You have to study atleast below mentioned languages at school level.
• English, intenational language used for communication throughout world.
• National language (Hindi in India), to communicate with people inside country who don’t know english (less educated people)
• Any optional local languages (Urdu, sanskrit, telugu, bengali etc.), to communicate with people of particular region of country who don’t know english and hindi (usually labour and poorly educated).
Science:
• This subject teaches you basics of principles of nature which makes you understand every consept in robotics in further studies.
Mathematics:
• Mathematics is used every where in life right from daily life counting to problem solving and analysing in robotics.
Social Sciences:
• This subject will teach you about society, culture, ancient living etc. which helps you to understand what kind of robots are necessary, why and where.
